Youth Convention is the largest statewide gathering of A/G students across Louisiana. It happens every year; usually on Easter weekend. Students are encouraged to press on & continue strong in their relationship with Christ, while surrounded by 1,500 other students across the state! It's a great time, that everyone is sure to leave changed from... Our goal is that the power of God would move so strongly upon the students from each church, that when they return home- people KNOW something is different. They've had an encounter with the living God and will never be the same again. We want them to be filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit with an eternal flame, that won't dwindle away two days, two weeks, or two months after the event... but that it's burning within them all the days of their life! That they will be empowered to live out the Word of God in their world.
Fine Arts is another amazing component in LYM. It provides students an opportunity to grow in the abilities & talents that God has placed within their lives. That each student may compete in categories - not for the sake of competition. But that they would compete to practice and streamline the gifts that God has given them. That they would learn to be "excellent" in a few areas, rather than settling to be "good" in many, many areas. Fine Arts will be an amazing additive to this year's convention, that will encourage many students to say, "Hey. I can do that!" and will challenge them to work and perfect the many things that God has placed within their lives.
